Understanding the process of building your new home is critical to evaluating which builder will best fit your expectations. Our process reflects many years of industry experience and best practices.
During this time, you’ll meet with Jeff Robertson to discuss your home building and design objectives. We will also review any specific details pertaining to land/lot needs and home placement, as applicable. Our goal is to identify all needs and desires for your home so we can help you choose the best location and floor plan to meet those needs.
This is one of the most exciting and important steps in the process. We will begin by reviewing together the floor plans in Echelon Home’s extensive, diverse portfolio. Any of these floor plans can be customized to meet your needs or we can contract with one of our architectural partners to create an original design. This experience insures even small details such as the steepness of a stairway or impact of window placement on the exterior elevation are meticulously accounted for before construction begins.
After your goals are understood and reflected in your plan design, we will complete the the legal paperwork for your review. The contract package will outline all decisions made to date as well as document any specific details, including floor plan, schedule, pricing and upgrades, as applicable.
Echelon Homes has partnered with exceptional vendors and subcontractors. With the assistance of one of our team members, you will meet with many of these partners to select cabinets, flooring, lighting, counter tops, plumbing fixtures, trim detail, and other finishes for your home. Additionally, we do not limit your choices to our vendors exclusively, and invite and enjoy ideas that fall outside the parameters of conventional selections. It’s YOUR home – we want it to reflect your personality and desires.
With the design and selection process complete, relax and watch your vision become reality. Visit the job site as often as you can!
At this point in the process, your home’s structure is complete and drywall is about to be installed. During this critical meeting, we will walk through the home together to review and confirm that all framing, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical installations meet your approval. Customers employing a home inspector can use this opportunity to inspect current state of construction.
Your home is nearly complete and Echelon Homes wants to make sure every detail is taken care of! During the final walkthrough meeting, we will assemble a list of any items that need to be corrected before closing. We will also familiarize you with the major operating systems of the home and review, in detail, our warranty process. This is another opportunity for clients to have a home inspector thoroughly review the completed home. This meeting typically occurs 7- 10 days before the scheduled closing.
Closing is when your home officially becomes yours. A major goal of our company is to ensure as seamless a closing as possible. This is attained through diligent communication with your lender, as well as the attorney or closing company of your choice. Enjoy your new home, and we look forward a continuing relationship for years to come!
Echelon Homes understands that no home is perfect and wants to be there to assist in remedying any issues that arise after closing. To this end, we will return to walk through your home 90 days after completion and assemble a ‘punch list’ of items that need to be addressed. We will go through this same process a final time at the 1-year mark.
